A Scorpion retrieves a skull to bring it through the veil of death and allow for its transmutation and rebirth as the eagle/phoenix after moving through the still dark waters of Scorpio and the mystery of the Mysteries represented by the Celtic cross and Rose-Croix, The colours are muted and the trees are also in their death phase awaiting the rebirth of spring. The eight-fold geometry and eight-pointed star emanating from the cross represent the Star of Redemption or Regeneration and represents baptism of the Christian faith, an apt choice for the ruler of the 8th house.
